[recipes + videos] 5 Assorted Chiffon Cakes - Part IV

This is Part IV  (Part I, Part II and Part III ) of my chiffon cakes post and in each post there are five different flavour of chiffon cakes. On a count I think I have made more than 25 flavour and out of those Pandan Chiffon Cake is the only one which I often made at least once or twice in a month.

Since my family prefer cakes that are without cream or frosting my bakes often rotates between chiffon or pond cake. But once in a while upon request I would also bake muffin, chocolate brownie or cheesecake. There are two fruity chiffon cakes recipes in this post plus one of my favourite using gula melaka which I hope you can try on it.

[Recipe + Video] Rice Powder Chocolate Chiffon Cake - 粘米粉巧克力戚风蛋糕

Yeah! Today is the first day of mid-year school holidays which I am sure some of you already have plans line-up for your kid(s) with activities, programmes or oversea trip. No matter what it is I hope you can have a wonderful bonding time with your loved ones.

For this week post, I am sharing another chiffon cake recipe using "rice flour (粘米粉)" which we often used it in Asia recipe to make steamed cake with yam or radish. Basically rice flour give a better texture for chiffon cake which is lighter and the recipe also requires less sugar and oil.

[Recipe + Video] Blue Pea Flower Chiffon Cake - 蝶豆花戚风蛋糕

Hello everyone how's your weekend? Finally mid-year exam for the boy had ended last week and now I am back with my usual routines on trying out new recipes. Last week I baked the above chiffon cake using mixture of cake and rice flour together with blue pea flower water.

Initially I thought the cake will turn out to be either light blue or purplish colour but it ends up pale green which resemble matcha cake. Guess next round I have to intense the colour by adding more dried blue pea flowers while making the "blue water".

Japanese Dark Pearl Chiffon Cake - 日式黑珍珠戚风蛋糕

Japanese Dark Pearl Chiffon
Being a chiffon cake lover, I am always excited to explore new flavour so when I saw Eileen's Japanese Dark Pearl Chiffon photo on my Facebook timeline. I immediately bookmarked the recipe because of its unique name plus the use of "dark chocolate" as one of the key ingredients.

Just to share this recipe was initially from Aunty Yochana website many years ago and bakers who tried all shared good review on it even till now. This recipe is slightly different from the chocolate chiffon cake which I made previously because it had a richer taste and moist texture which similar to those Japanese Souffle Cheesecake.

Fall Recipes Using Pumpkin For Halloween

Halloween is a yearly celebration observed in a number of countries which falls on October 31. Although we don't really celebrate Halloween through the traditional trick-or-treat party but for the past three years I have being sharing some Halloween Themed Recipes during this time of the year. For this year instead of the usual savory dishes I decided to bake some sweet treats (cakes) for our afternoon tea.

And since Pumpkin is one of the most common ingredients for Fall recipes, I decided to use it to make my favourite Pumpkin Cheesecake (mini version) and Pumpkin Chia Seeds Chiffon Cake.

5 Assorted Chiffon Cakes Recipes - Part II

Good morning everyone! For those who follow my updates on Instagram and Facebook Page, you will release that I have being working on some chiffon cake recipes lately. It is such a quick and easy cake to whip up in about 10 minutes plus 40 minutes baking time in the oven (excluding cooling time) and you get to enjoy some lovely hearty homemade chiffon anytime of the day.

I had received some emails from readers regarding problems that they face while making chiffon cakes mostly because the cake sinks or did not rise as fluffy as expected. All these might due to  folding of egg whites into the yolk batter (over mixed), oven temperature or etc. But I am sure with proper guideline and hands-on once will eventually master the recipes. In this post, I will be sharing another 5 chiffon cake recipes apart from what I did in Chiffon Cake Recipes - Part I.

Orange Chiffon Cake

My love for baking Chiffon Cake is always inspired by passionate chiffon cake bakers such as Small Small Baker, my bestie @ahpoohbear and a few others. Their love for chiffon cakes could be shown through their recipe posts or photos of the chiffon cakes that they baked. And as you realise from some of my post I love citrus fruits such as Lemon and Orange which I often incorporate it into my bakes or dishes.

Since there was a special offer on oranges last week which I bought for making fresh orange juice, I decided to bake an Orange Chiffon Cake to pair with it for afternoon tea and at the same time make use of those lovely orange rinds which enhance the taste and aroma of the cake.

Pandan Chiffon Cake

This is rather my "first post" on making a proper Pandan Chiffon Cake using tube pan (similar to an angel food cake pan) method rather than the previous two (recipes) I made using Happy Call Pan (HCP). Although the recipe is quiet similar but for this round I replaced the usual pandan paste /pandan juice with pandan flavour coconut milk (obtain by blending some fresh pandan leave and coconut milk together) which I have some leftover while making Pandan Kaya (recipe).

Chocolate Hokkaido Chiffon Cupcakes - 巧克力北海道蛋糕

Last Tuesday I have made some Hokkaido Chiffon Cupcakes for my family as well as mum's church friends. And since I still have leftover whipping cream, I decided to make another batch which is Chocolate flavour upon my boy's request.

The recipe for both flavour is rather similar as I just replace some of the cake flour with dutch process cocoa powder which give it a deeper brown and nicer flavour.
