Do you know what is this green mixture with the chocolate sauce? Hahaha... For your info, is not Green Tea Ice-cream nor Mint Ice-cream. Is blended Avocado dessert.... This is another way to consume your avocado if you don't like to eat it as what it is.... For more information on Avocado, you can click on this link "All about Avocado".
The original recipe come from Suyin's "A yucky Shade of Green" post. She used sugar, palm sugar and mocha powder for the sauce. But Tracy taught me another methods is to used dark chocolate melted with palm sugar and drizzle on top and it taste great as well.
Notes:
To ripen avocado, place it in a brown paper bag and store at room temperature with an apple or banana for 2 to 4 days or until ripe.
Store cut avocado halves with the seed left intact. Drizzle with lemon or lime juice and wrap tightly in plastic, ensuring plastic is pressed on surface.

nice :) i wanted to make something similar too, not as in ice-cream but a shake of some sort, like those in sanur indonesian restaurant. avocado shake w/ gula melaka. do u hv to use ripe avocadoes? i went to NTUC, those i saw were pretty hard...tho' i dunno if they're ripe. so i didnt buy. any tips?
ReplyDeleteAvocado do taste great for dessert esp with gula melaka..... Yup u had to used those ripe avocado or else it will be hard and taste bitter.
ReplyDeleteI also bought mine from NTUC..now go offer 3 for $3.20 rite.... so is worth getting it. U just choose those that is bright green in colour and no bruise on the skin. U can keep in room temperature for about 2 - 3 days then the skin will turn dark green in colour. U hold it in your palm and it should feel abit soft to touch then it's ripe to be eaten... When ripen, u can keep in the fridge for up to 1 wk. HTH
ya, the one i saw is 3 for $3.20 oso. but that time only left the last 3, and they're very hard to the touch, so i didnt buy. so u think i shd juz buy, irregardless of whether they're ripe or not, and leave it in the open for 2-3 days? and only when the skin turns dark green den can eat?
ReplyDeleteok that will do, guess i'll go buy. but its not very often avocado will b available...its afterall seasonal fruit i think.
Yum..., this looks delish. Must make...! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Viv,
ReplyDeleteU are back from Aussi liao huh? So how's the trip?
hi EM, i tried this at home too! But i'm not too happy with the results, maybe i add too much milk and dilute the sweetness of the ice-cream. I gonna try this on kiwi since my bf prefer kiwi than avocado.
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm reading this article, I suddenly remember I still have half pc. left in refrigerator so I quickly grab it and had it along with yoghurt. Will try to blend it as you did next time, sure it tastes great !
ReplyDeleteWow.. this is nice.. you must go try it out :)
