I fell in love with this Banana Fritters during one of my brunch invite over at Maameemoomoo's place. Indeed Sherie is a fabulous cook plus baker who can turn simple ingredients into restaurant standard and styling food. And if you remember she is also the one who inspired and taught me quick and simple method on making homemade bread. (you can read more on my homemade bread ideas and recipes HERE)
You cannot imagine how delicious these fluffy banana treat taste like until you sank your teeth into one of these. I still remember vividly that I had about 5 pieces of these over at Sherie's place. It's simple so irresistible with the extra honey, butter and banana slices. And both of us agreed that these banana fritters taste quite similar to Kueh Kodok (Deep-Fried Banana Balls)
Finally, Sherie posted her recipe last week and now I am able to make this yummy treat on my own whenever I have some extra banana in the pantry. Moreover this recipe also makes a great idea as snack anytime of the day.
Have a great weekend everyone!

ReplyDeleteClaire
Hi Claire,
DeleteSorry for the late reply. You can just swirl in 1/4 cup or 1/2 cup depend on the size that you prefer. :)
I believe your words and will have to try this one. I was just going to ask the difference between this "fritters" and pancakes, too. Well whatever it is, this looks DELICIOUS! I need to buy buttermilk!
ReplyDeleteHahaha... I have a lot of "?" on this name fritters. I guess because the pancake are kind of thick and you can still eat the bits and chunks of mashed bananas in it which makes it taste like "fritters".
DeleteFor an instant, I thought banana fritters were Goreng Pisang! :p
ReplyDeleteThen I decided they look more like pancakes? No?
lolz...they do look like pancakes but then they are not those fluffy type. They are more towards those with bits and chunks of mashed banana in it which makes them taste like fritters :p
DeleteHi there, what can I use apart from buttermilk.
ReplyDeleteIn France, deep country can't find buttermilk. Do they keep well if I prepare them in advance?
Thanks for your reply soon.
Kind regards
Diana

HI Diana,
DeleteThanks for your note. If you cannot find buttermilk, replace it with 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt or 1/2 cup fresh milk plus 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice. HTH :)
