Pineapple Tarts


It's a few more weeks before Chinese New Year and you can easily find lot of New Year Cookies all around Singapore. Out of those cookies, Pineapple Tart is one of the most famous one among all. And since I have a packet of pineapple paste sitting in the fridge, I decided to do a test run on this recipe before making them in batches for friends and relatives.

This recipe is from one of the mum's in M4M website but I modify the ingredients a bit to suits our preference. The pineapple tart is more towards the "melt in mouth" version which is more buttery and melt instantly when put into your mouth.

Low Fat Carrot Cake


It had being on my mind for some time and yet I am still considering whether a not to make an English Carrot Cake which I find the steps rather lengthy and etc. After some read up, I decide to try this Low Fat Carrot Cake recipe since it does not require any oil or butter.

Surprisingly the end result turns out good with a light and fluffy texture plus lemon and nutty scent which was rather different from the usual carrot cake which consists of cinnamon, walnut and cream cheese.

Perilla Chicken Roll


Perilla (紫苏/大叶) has a sweet flavour with the scent of plum. They are commonly used in Japanese Barbecue skewers, salads and sashimi. After searching for a longtime I finally managed to find this Perialla leave at Takashimaya Cold Storage which cost about $2.05 for packet of 10 Leaves.

Assorted Melting Moments


As a perennial favourite, these buttery little treats will bring back memories of separating the biscuits and licking the cream. This recipe is pretty straight forward to make and it takes about 30 minutes to prepare. And for this batch of Assorted Melting Moments, I sandwich them with different flavour such as butter, coffee and chocolate cream.
