Coffee @ Liberty Coffee

Time flies and weekend has almost come to the end with a few more hours to Monday. For me it has being a great week as I have finally catch up with two of my "cyber friends" whom we have know each other through blogging for many years and yet to meet up. Beside that, I am also lucky to visit Liberty Coffee during their "limited" opening hours which happens to fall on Thursday, 22 May between 10am - 4pm.

Breakfast @ YaKum, JEM

After mid-year examination for my kid had ended earlier this week, I finally managed to plan a meetup with the two lovely ladies whom I have known them through blogging for many years. During all these years, we have being reading and following each other blogs and social media platform and it's like we are closed friends who know each other well. (we do chat regularly through our social media platforms).

Although before the meetup we still thought it might be quite awkward to talk face to face but eventually the three of us clicks well and we have so much to chat about from our kids to blogs, gardening and etc. Indeed we have a great morning and we do enjoy each other company as well as our breakfast at YaKun.

Gifts from Wokkingmum (coin purse) and Small Small Baker (cookies)

Above are the lovely gifts that I received from my two friends whom I believe you could have read about their blogs too. The two lovely ladies are Elaine from wokkingmum.blogspot.com and Small Small Baker from smallsmallbaker.blogspot.com both are also well-known for their recipes too. Actually we have a photo taken together too but due to some personal reason I cannot share it here upon their request.

Breakfast @ Seng Kee Bak Kuet Teh (Ang Mo Kio)

And on Thursday I had an impromptu breakfast with Eileen at Chong Boon Food Centre (Ang Mo Kio) before heading for our coffee fix at one of her recommended cafe at Rangoon Road. And as a Bak Kut Teh (肉骨茶) fans, I personally prefer the Teochew style which comes with clear soup base that cooks with pork ribs / spare ribs, garlic and pepper. The soup is a little spicy with hint of peppery taste instead of those with strong herbal taste.

Although it was my first visit, this Bak Kut Teh stall definitely has captured my heart which I would share more about my view on their dishes in another post.

Coffee Break @ Liberty Coffee

After breakfast we took a train to Farrer Park and arrived at Liberty Coffee which according to Eileen (@eileenongxt) it only opens once / twice each month on average and there are even certain months which they are not even open at all. So we were consider lucky to be able to try their coffee during their "limited edition" opening hours.

[Liberty Coffee] Flat White and Cappuccino

Our order for that day was Flat White and Cappuccino and after first sip I was overwhelm by it's smooth and silky after taste. Each sip of coffee has a nice aroma which is little to no bitterness or acidity taste when compared to the one we have over at One Man Coffee.

[Liberty Coffee] Chocolate Croissant

Unfortunately on that day they don't have any in-house cakes or pastries made by the owner's wife so we just settle for one of those Chocolate Croissant which they outsource. Sad to say the croissant was kind of soggy without any crisp and it was a bit oily too. Hope on their next opening date we could try their famous Gula Melaka Pandan Cake and perhaps I should go for their Piccolo which I have heard positive feedback from patrons sitting behind us.

Liberty Coffee is located at 131 Rangoon Road which is near the corner of the road beside Jewel Cafe + Bar. The nearest MRT is Farrer Park Station (take exit B) and it takes about less than 10 minutes walk from the station to the cafe.
