[4 Recipes] Overnight Oats (隔夜燕麦) - Part II
Like most people, I always thought that eating oatmeal is something boring and tasteless which often given to us when we are not feeling well. But recently after trying these "overnight oats" for two weeks it totally changed our perceptions about oats plus it definitely has transform our usual daily breakfast into something more appetizing and nutrition.
And just to warn you these overnight oats are very addictive and you can hardly stop with just a bowl! Moreover they are also very versatile which you could create many different flavour out of it by adding a little bit of this and that. Below are three quick combination which we love and I hope they suits your taste buds too.

Japanese Dark Pearl Chiffon Cake - 日式黑珍珠戚风蛋糕
Japanese Dark Pearl Chiffon |
Just to share this recipe was initially from Aunty Yochana website many years ago and bakers who tried all shared good review on it even till now. This recipe is slightly different from the chocolate chiffon cake which I made previously because it had a richer taste and moist texture which similar to those Japanese Souffle Cheesecake.

[Chinese Remedy] Five Flower Tea - 五花茶
Know about this remedy from one of my boy's classmate mum who saw it from 早安您好! (Good Morning Singapore!) TV show. So when I happen to see this pre-packed 5 Flower Tea (五花茶) from the Chinese Medical Hall (中药店) I decided to get a pack to try it out.

[With Recipes] Our Chinese Lunar New Year Goodies
Three more days to go before the Chinese Lunar New Year celebration begins and most of the households are busying with new year bakes such as pineapple tarts, almond cookies, love letters and etc. Whereas for savory dishes most of us will be making the ngoh hiang (minced meat roll), braised soy duck, braised sea cucumber, chicken curry and etc.
In this post, I am sharing some of the goodies (with recipes) that we had made till date such as Kueh Bangkit, Orr Nee, Ngoh Hiang and etc which you might be interested to try any of them during the 15 days of lunar new year feasts.

Chocolate Chip Muffins - 巧克力豆松饼
Adding a handful of chocolate chips to the usual vanilla scented muffin batter always turn them into great tea snack. These moist and fluffy delicious muffins can be eaten either warm or at room temperature together with a glass of cold milk or tea. And beside the chocolate chips filling sometime we also love to sprinkle extra chocolate chips or nuts on top of the batter before sending them into the oven.

Pandan Flavour Steamed Egg Cake - 香兰口味的蒸鸡蛋糕
It is always a blessing to be able to enjoy one or two of your favourite childhood food and at the same time passed down its traditional value to the younger generations. Here together with my little one I have made a traditional Steamed Egg Cake aka Ji Dan Gao (鸡蛋糕) which is infused with Pandan (screwpine) flavour instead of the plain one that we normally made.
The reason why we made it pandan flavour is because my boy is a big fan of Pandan Chiffon Cake and in order to make him loves this steamed egg cake I decided to add in some pandan paste to enhance the flavour (cover up the egg taste) as well as visual effect.
