Pasta is a hearty dish that suits the needs of both adults and children. You can either use dry pasta noodles or make your own with the help of pasta machines or hand knead by adding simple ingredients like flour, water and eggs. When done it can be used to cook with different ingredients such as spinach, mushroom, seafood or beef together with sauce of our choice.
Best of all, pasta makes a quick-and-easy weeknight meal for the family. Below are five of our family favourite pasta recipes which I often rotate around with the bake version. Hope these it will be a useful reference for your weeknight dinner.

[Recipes] Sesame Chicken Mee Suah - 麻油鸡面线
Sesame oil and ginger are two of my favourite ingredients used in my daily cooking. As a huge fan of Sesame Oil Chicken; a popular confinement dish, I am also in love with the soup version by adding mee suah (mian xian - 面线) into it. All the while this dish has become one of my comfort food whenever I need to warm up or drive out the wind in my body.
There are a few ways in preparing Sesame Chicken Mee Suah depending on individual preference. Some might use full portion of rice wine instead of water (or mixture of water and rice wine) for the soup base. Below is a quick recipe for our version.

Malay Fried Chicken Rice - 马来炸鸡饭
This Malay Fried Chicken Rice is inspired by my next door neighbour whom is a great cook. KaKak (Mdm khatijah) is a cheerful lady whom often share her cooking tips with me. Besides that she also taught me many delicious dishes which everyone loves such as Nasi Ayam Goreng (Malay fried chicken rice), Roti John (omelette sandwich), Bergedil (potato patty), Spicy Fried Spaghetti with Shrimp and etc.
This delicious fried chicken is flavoured by two main seasonings which are; turmeric and chicken stock powder. Furthermore to enhance the taste and texture of the chicken I also added some grated ginger juice to act as meat tenderizer too.

Recently I have an obsession for Banana Bread and I have being trying different combination of ingredients and methods to get the best recipe for my family. And for those who do gluten free bakes you will realize most of the time the bakes tend to be dry and crumbly due to the use of ingredients. But for this super easy one bowl "gluten + dairy free" Banana Bread recipe; the end result is amazing with super moist and hearty texture all thanks to the over-ripe bananas. Furthermore together with the raspberry the combination of banana and coconut are a match made in heaven that adds bonus points to this bake too.

Mixed Berry Magic Cake - 莓子香草魔法蛋糕
Magic Cake (also known as 魔法蛋糕 or Magic Custard Cake) is where one cake batter magically turns into 3 distinct layers after being baked in the oven. And it feels so amazing when you see a fluffy sponge layer on top, wobble custard layer in the middle and a dense cake layer on the bottom while cutting the cake.
